Before I went on to begin hard animating the Dragon coming in and destroying the castle I wanted to explore bringing the creature to life through a flight cycle. This helped me develop a better understanding of the weight and action that Dragons make, understanding these principles are very important when animating an form of creature. By making a test animation which is unique to the overall piece, but also a common action performed by the creature, you learn a great deal about how to animate it in more complex situations.
